May I put a solid wood floor on my concrete slab?
Solid wood floors are typically stapled to a wood sub-floor. However, a wood sub-floor can be added to a concrete slab with the addition of plywood. A minimum 5/8″ tick plywood must be used. This is glued and nailed to your concrete slab and the solid wood is stapled to the new wood sub-floor. This process can be costly, so fewer people are using solid floors when a concrete slab is the existing type of sub-floor.
