Will my dogs scratch my wood floors?
It is possible for dogs to cause damage to wood floors. Dogs, especially big dogs tend to dig into the floor to gain traction when running. This usually results not in scratches, but in pressure indentations. These indentations can appear to be scratches but have not actually removed any finish from the surface of the floor. The best remedy for this is to simply keep your dogs nails trimmed which will dramatically reduce any possible damage to the floor. This usually happens naturally from walking a dog on concrete sidewalks, but if your dog is like mine and really loves the indoors, you better trim their nails.
